Extending round the clock care to Southbank

Based just 10 minutes up the road, the team at South Yarra Medical Clinic is here to service all medical needs of Southbank residents.

Operating out of the Chapel St clinic since 1999 and having witnessed the transformation of the local and broader community, practice owner Dr Josef Goldbaum said the need to cater to wider demand had become increasingly vital.

“Since we’ve been here the apartments and other buildings have sprung up like mushrooms!” he said.

“Add that to what’s been happening in Southbank as well, which has been poorly covered for medical services and we’re just a five to 10 minute drive up the road, we’re accessible with easy parking and we’ve got very good services.”

With more than 40 years experience in general practice and nutritional medicine and 20 years in cosmetic surgery and medicine, one is hard-pressed to find a service that his practice can’t provide.

He said the combination of experience and care provided by both he and his dedicated team of doctors had seen the practice well and truly establish its place as a community-focused medical clinic.  

“We’ve built up a very strong relationship with the community during our time here. Most of our patients have followed either myself or one of our other doctors for many years,” he said.

“We’ve got a very strong team of experienced GPs. We have 12 all up working out of the clinic on full or part-time basis ranging from younger to older both male and female.”  

South Yarra Clinic offers an extensive range of services, which includes general health care, family planning, minor surgery, immunisations, skin checks, work-related injury treatment, travel vaccinations, onsite pathology and much more.

In addition to its wide range of general practice services, the clinic also offers a range of comprehensive cosmetic surgeries, including anything from anti wrinkle injections to liposuction and varicose vein treatment.

The highly experienced team also possesses specialist care for both women’s and men’s health, mental and sexual health as well as Japanese, German and French speaking doctors.

With a constant influx of new residents to the area, Dr Goldbaum said the clinic was welcoming to anyone in need of any medical assistance.

“We’ve decided to put more of an emphasis into the general practice side of the business because of the demand for quality GPs, which we have here,” he said.

“We’re trying to cater to demand by opening seven days a week and extended hours as well. We basically cover each and every aspect of general practice so whatever you can think of in terms of why you go to a doctor we have it here.”

“Whatever it is pediatrics, family medicine, men’s health, pre-employment medicals, insurance medicals – we’ll do it here.”
