Spring racing beauty needs at your door

As Melbourne approaches another spring racing season, Southbank locals in need of race day beautification need look no further than RoopRani Southgate!

Having operated at Southgate for four years now, Southbank’s local hair and beauty salon knows the frenzy that is spring racing in Melbourne and salon manager Prasheeta Yashar said she and her team couldn’t wait for it.

“It’s actually a very glamorous time around Southbank there are always people dressed up wandering around and people are very happy,” she said.

“We’ve got the TAB right across from here so it’s quite busy in this little pocket but it tends to be quite chirpy early in the morning. Races are running from 8am so there are always people around and everyone is really upbeat.”

To provide race goers with ample time to adequately prepare, RoopRani will once again extend its opening hours during the racing season with an earlier opening time of 6am.

And if that wasn’t enough, it also offers a complimentary glass of champagne to every customer to help get race day underway in the right fashion!

“The champagne breakfast in the mornings is definitely appreciated by everyone with their early start,” Prasheeta said.

“A lot of women like to come in at 6am and have their hair and make up done and realistically all they need to do is make it back in time for breakfast, put their dress on and they’re ready to go.”

Offering an extensive range of hair and beauty services, RoopRani’s professional hairdressers and stylists specialise in providing everything from hair, nails and make up through to spray tanning, hair removal and massages.

Having recently introduced a brand new state-of-the-art make up stand, RoopRani is also offering all of its makeup services redeemable on product, meaning no forking out extra money for lip gloss or touch ups for race day.

Prasheeta said her team of “morning people” was well equipped to dealing with all spring racing beauty needs.

“Our team is made up entirely of morning people, which makes it so much easier. We’re all very friendly at 6am!” she said. “Spring carnival period is usually quite good because of all of the different services we do offer.”

“People do come in early in the week to have their spray tans, nails, hair and feet done and everything else in preparation. In the morning they’re able to get their hair put up, have their fascinators or hats applied and have their makeup done.”

Located right near the heart of the central city, Prasheeta said Southbank was abuzz in spring racing season.

With punters travelling in from places far and wide to stay at the huge host of accommodation services, she said the salon was well positioned for both visitors and local residents.

“This particular area is so convenient for people staying at Mantra, the Langham, Quay West, the Travelodge and then all of the local residents who live in the apartments,” she said.

“It’s such a central location without being smack bang in the middle amidst all of the chaos that comes with the spring carnival. It’s convenient but it’s still peaceful.”

RoopRani Southgate is located at P5 Southgate. For more information visit
