Come fly with Melbourne Star

Having been the city’s icon for a number of years, the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel is offering experiences beyond just flights with views.

Melbourne Star is now offering a range of unique “in-flight” packages in its fully-enclosed, air-conditioned glass cabins 120 metres above ground.

Available from 1pm daily, Sparkling Flights allows guests to enjoy a glass of bubbles on their flights or upgrade to their own private cabin that can accommodate up to 15 guests.

Catering can be added to the Sparkling Private Cabin for an even more exclusive experience on the southern hemisphere’s only giant observation wheel.

This Valentine’s Day, take your loved one to a romantic date in your private cabin with wine, canapés, roses and music.

The newly-opened Star Departure Lounge offers snacks and beverages to be enjoyed at the lounge or taken on board the cabins as they rotate above Melbourne’s skyline.

The sky really is the limit for what programs are on offer at Melbourne Star.

Try Yoga in the Sky to find inner peace and reclaim clarity while meditating above the world and perfecting your star pose.

The 60-minute Vinyasa Yoga Flow sessions are suitable for both beginner and intermediate-level yogis and emphases on breathing, alignment and postures.

And if you are after a wedding like no other, say “I do” on board the Star!

Wedding ceremonies can be held in the cabin with 360-degree city views as the backdrop and fully catered functions are available at the event space.

Melbourne Star’s director Toshiya Kawasaki said his team had worked diligently to bring the best service and most memorable ride experience to visitors.

“Just like an airline, we now offer economy, business and first-class flights,” he said.

“The team has been busy working on programs that give our visitors new experiences and this is something new for us too.”

The past New Year’s Eve saw Melbourne Star’s cabins booked out by guests wanting to take in the spectacular fireworks in the air.

Mr Kawasaki said the new programs had really diversified what Melbourne Star had to offer and boosted visitor numbers significantly.

“Over the past three years, we’ve had more than one million visitors fly with us. I think the new packages will get people keep coming back.”

“We now provide packages other than just for people to take a flight and enjoy the view. Having that private, exclusive access to a cabin and some canapé while sipping on a glass of wine is a really unique experience,” he said.
