Every day’s a gem for Ruby

Every day’s a gem for Ruby

Ruby Phillips has it all worked out.

The Australian Silky Terrier cross-Long Haired Jack Russell gets to go on walks in the morning and afternoon, and sleeps in between.

It’s the perfect lifestyle for an inner city dog, and Ruby loves every minute of it.

Ruby and owner Amelia Phillips moved into the Keep apartments with Amelia’s partner Grant Johnston two years ago, and it’s fair to say Ruby has adjusted to the lifestyle very well.

“She gets a walk every morning and night, and in between sleeps and enjoys the view from her sofa-couch, watching the world go by,” Grant said.

Ruby is a very obedient dog, even winning an obedience award as a puppy.

Despite this there is one thing that can lead her astray.

“Ruby’s one vice is food, she can smell a bread crumb from 15 metres away and if you don’t let her eat it on the morning walk, she will make a beeline to it on the nightly walk to see if it is still there,” Grant said.

Ruby is also very popular amongst other dogs in Southbank, and loves meeting up with other members of the “Southbank Pack”; Titus, Buckley, Chloe and Charlie.
