A new family

A new family

By Stephanie Zhang

Daniel and Michaela have just moved to Southbank and are already making a home with the help of their new pug puppy Charli.

The pair bought her only a week after moving here from Sydney. “We’ve been a bit naughty with her,” Daniel said, as the building’s owners’ corporation had only approved Charli two weeks after she moved in with them.

“We’ve been smuggling her out,” he said. During Southbank Local News’s chat, Charli was absolutely bursting with energy and couldn’t stop moving.

She loved sprinting and leaping around the apartment. “She’s going crazy!” Michaela said.

“We want to get her out there because she’s got so much energy, she just wants to play!” Daniel said.

While the family made a trip down to St Kilda beach recently, unfortunately the cold weather meant there weren’t that many other dogs there.

Daniel and Michaela hope that getting Charli in the newspaper can help her make more friends.

Apparently, there is a French bulldog in a building nearby they’ve seen on the balcony every night.

They hope Charli will be able to meet him soon! “We’ve been going to tons of pubs and cafes with her.

We literally just carry her in!” Daniel said. Thankfully, Southbank has plenty of dog-friendly places for Charli to play at.

Charli is only 20 weeks old but is already on Instagram as @charlipug, and will likely gain followers quickly with her cute face and positive energy.
