Dutch duo takes to the NGV

Dutch fashion designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren will appear in conversation with international guest curator Thierry- Maxime Loriot in a major NGV international public event this month.

Most renowned for their experimental runway shows including their 1999 Russian Doll show and the 2003 One Woman Show, it’s an event not to be missed.

The exhibition Viktor&Rolf: Fashion Artists will feature some of the most show- stopping and innovative works by the Dutch design duo.

Attendees can expect to see over 35 haute couture pieces from the designers’ collections, presented alongside earlier designs from the Viktor&Rolf archive and international museum collections.

Their work-in-progress Dolls, replicas of antique dolls dressed in the designers’ most iconic looks, will also be on display.

Since forming their artistic partnership in 1992, Horsting and Snoeren have gained international acclaim for their unique approach and experimentation with design, technical virtuosity and sculptural forms.  

Viktor&Rolf in Conversation will explore the designers’ creativity and their career-defining ethos of “wearable art”.

Throughout their illustrious 25-year career, the pair have carved an identity that pushes the boundaries between art and fashion with often contrasting themes.
