Hamer Hall tasty revamp

Hamer Hall tasty revamp

The redevelopment of Hamer Hall is well underway, and it is not just the theatre facilities being upgraded during the process, with a brand new restaurant also to be included in the works.

Trocadero, a Mediterranean-style brasserie and cocktail bar will be added to the iconic concert hall, ensuring guests won’t go hungry while enjoying shows.

The eatery is just part of the $128.5 million redevelopment. Other features of the revamp include a new outlook to the city, better amenities, expanded foyer spaces and improved disability access.

There will also be a secondary entry to the hall at the river level added, which will help open up the building up to the river and St Kilda Rd.

On the inside, the refurbishment will include upgrades in acoustics, as well as new auditorium seating and new state-of-the-art staging systems.

The Arts Centre is very pleased to have Trocadero, owned and operated by the Van Haandel Group, coming on board, with chief executive Judith Isherwood saying: “We’re setting out to create an exciting new Melbourne dining precinct at this singular location and the Van Haandel Group will bring to it their brilliant combination of quality and relaxed style.”

The redevelopment remains on track to be opened by mid-2012.
