MEET THE LOCALS

18 Mar 2013

Melbourne Recital Centre’s (MRC) Local Heroes program has been underway during March and is attracting great crowds to see some of Australia’s finest musicians.

While performances have already included the likes of The Sutherland Trio, Ironwood and Latitude 37, there is still an opportunity to see Benaud Trio, Seraphim Trio and Songmakers Australia.

One of the features of the program is Firebird Trio’s Faust & Schubert. This piece retells the legend of Faust, a man who sold his soul to the devil for power and youth. It also includes music from a modern version of the tale, Angel Heart.

For more information on the Local heroes program, head to the website www.melbournelocalheroes.com.au
