Moving on with Montague

Moving on with Montague

While uncertainty remains high in Fishermans Bend, one developer with a permit for three towers at 85 Gladstone St is wasting no time in moving its project forward.

Located in the Montague Precinct, Fifteen85 presents an attractive and viable option for buyers with the site sitting between the recently-completed Gravity Tower and the soon-to-be completed public park.

The Montague Precinct, which is bordered by Cecil St, Johnson St, Boundary St and City Rd, is currently the subject of 18 live development applications as well as 16 approved building permits.

It’s also a stone’s throw from the new South Melbourne Primary School, as well as the 96 and 109 tram routes.

Minister for Planning Richard Wynne has put a freeze on all development applications in Fishermans Bend pending the release of the next stage of the Fishermans Bend Framework.

It is anticipated that the government will release the framework ahead of the November state election, with Australia’s largest-ever urban renewal project to be a key local issue in the seat of Albert Park.

Developer CEL Australia has launched a showroom at the site and is pushing full steam ahead with marketing the project, which consists of more than 700 one, two and three-bedroom apartments.
