Showing off the country life

15 Apr 2014

Us city slickers got a taste of the simpler life in April, when the Regional Victoria Living Expo came to town, displaying at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).

Regional and Rural Development Peter Ryan said the event highlighted to all Victorians the benefits of regional Victoria.

“Whether you are a sea-changer, a tree-changer, or simply wanting to leave the hustle and bustle of city life for the clean country air, this innovative expo provides everything you need to know about moving to our regions,” Mr Ryan said.

“The Expo featured a comprehensive arts and culture program, fresh food, interactive sports and family experiences, as well as famous faces, including Garry Lyon, top athletes and live music performances headlined by former Killing Heidi front woman from Violet Town, Ella Hooper,” he added.

Other celebrities from regional Victoria to appear at the expo included current footballers Josh Cowen, Nathan Vardy and Dylan Grimes, Australian fast bowler James Pattinson and former Australian netballing superstar Sharelle McMahon.

The expo is expected to return in 2015.
