The gift of giving

The gift of giving Image

This Christmas, Ray White Southbank will continue its popular local tradition of giving to those less fortunate with the return of “A Little Ray of Giving”.

This inspiring Christmas campaign will see Ray White Southbank partner with the Rotary Club of Southbank to help disadvantaged children who may need a little extra light in their festive season.

The Ray White team is calling on the local community to embrace the giving season and dig deep for children who need it most.

“This is the third year that we’ve run A Little Ray of Giving and we want 2017 to be our biggest year yet,” director Andrew Salvo said. “Each year it’s amazing to see how well our community can come together and donate to such a great cause.”

“All you need to do is drop your gift into the office, you don’t even have to wrap it, we will do that part for you.”

Southbank Rotary Club president Liam Jones said as we neared the holiday break, it was important to remember that for some it’s a very lonely time of year. More than 22,000 young Victorians will experience Christmas with no family and no home.

Through its partnership, Southbank Rotary and Ray White’s Christmas present drive supports organisations like Launch Housing and Steps Outreach every year.

“Steps is an invaluable program that provides support and services, including accommodation, food, transport and clothing to homeless people,” Mr Jones said.

“Last year we witnessed a little boy unwrap a fishing rod, and the smile on his face was both uplifting and heartbreaking – we don’t realise how good we have it.”

Located at 111 Clarendon St, Ray White Southbank now has its special giving tree in its office and is collecting gifts throughout December.

“It’s a really simple way to put a smile on the face of a young child who might otherwise go without Christmas,” Andrew said. “Just a small gift can make the biggest difference to families who are struggling.”

Ray White has run the initiative across Australia and New Zealand each December since 2012. Last year more than 3000 offices helped raise 30,000 gifts for disadvantaged families and it hopes to beat that number in 2017!
