Visionary Stan shares his passion with the YRBA

Members of Southbank’s business community were treated to a passionate address at the Yarra River Business Association’s first networking luncheon of the year on Friday, March 6.

More than 50 guests gathered at Beer Deluxe at Federation Square and received a spectacular presentation from guest speaker and visionary town planner Stan Liacos.

As a former senior director of planning at Federation Square, Mr Liacos returned to the precinct that he helped create.

While he has worked as executive director for the City of Greater Bendigo over the past nine years, he has also held top roles in planning projects at the Docklands Authority and the Geelong waterfront development.

The enigmatic Liacos left a lasting impression on guests as he shared his fascinating story of helping build one of Australia’s most controversial developments right through to his current role in developing one of Australia’s fastest growing regional cities.
