Boyd block comes down

Many locals will have rejoiced at the sight of the old classroom block behind Boyd being demolished last month.

The 1970s classroom building, which has housed Creative Spaces artists in more recent times, is finally being removed to make way for the long-awaited Boyd Park.

With the project being talked about for the best part of the past 10 years, the sight of heavy machinery arriving to demolish the building is an exciting sign of progress.
