Apartment theft Image

Southbank police have released images of two people following the theft of a mobile phone at Southbank on July 5.

Police have been told that an unknown man attended the reception area of an apartment complex on Haig St at approximately 1.30pm.

While the concierge was distracted, the man stole a mobile phone, which had been left on the counter.  He quickly fled the building.

He used the stolen phone to access the victim’s Facebook page and posted his image with an unknown woman.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man is aged in his 20s and was wearing a camouflage cap, a black jacket, three-quarter length pants and black and white shoes.

Investigators have released images of a man and woman they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
