Boyd Park activities

The City of Melbourne says it will continue to bring a range of activities to the temporary Boyd Summer Park right through until autumn.

To date, health and wellbeing classes such as Splash Yoga (pictured), Zumba, Sunday Sports and fitness sessions have been held in the park and council says these will continue to take place.

On January 19, a piano was also installed as part of the Play Me, I’m Yours exhibition presented by Arts Centre Melbourne.

Beginning this month, upcoming activities include skateboarding workshops by Riverslide Skate Park YMCA, creative community craft sessions, Dusk DJ’s and African Drumming sessions.

Council told Southbank Local News that it would confirm several other community events this month.

The temporary park opened in December and will be in place until the construction of the new park begins, which is expected to commence in April.

Council also said it was inviting anyone who would like to conduct a free community activity in the space to contact the community animator at [email protected]

All events at the pop up park are being promoted through the Boyd e-newsletter and Participate Melbourne: participate.melbourne.vic.gov.au/boydpark
