Business graduates fill essential needs in the professional landscape each year.

A career in the accounting field offers the chance to contribute to growth and stability in industry – both locally and globally.

Holmesglen’s Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) – delivered at the St Kilda Rd city campus in Southbank – was created to fulfil this demand.

The path to a chosen career starts with education. The course is offered as a stepping-stone into business, allowing students to unlock the right knowledge prior to employment. This includes studies related to auditing and assurance, finance, economics, quantitative methods, information systems, taxation law and business and corporation law.

“While studying the MPA course, you plant seeds of business ideas and test them in your research projects, (hopefully) to inspire and ignite the imagination and appreciate the wonders of accounting, tax, finance – our business world,” MPA course leader Vasanthi Peter said.

Naina Bharti (pictured) used her time in the classroom to improve her future career potential. She, along with her classmates, explored their goals through extra-curricular activities to coincide with Women Entrepreneurship Week.

“Holmesglen is an ideal place to thrive, it’s where I found my voice. Migrating from India to Australia, I was welcomed at Holmesglen and the teachers guided me in the right direction,” she said.

The MPA is also accredited by industry professional bodies, including Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).

Holmesglen is currently accepting applications for the Master of Professional Accounting February intake (or, the second intake in July 2018). Find out more at holmesglen.edu.au
