Classes ideal for city living

Classes ideal for city living

Have you got a great story about living in Southbank you want to let the world know about? Pump Theatre may have the perfect opportunity for you.

The amateur theatre company is providing acting classes for adults at Boyd and Pump director Josephine Daly says she doesn’t want these to be run of the mill, ordinary classes.

“I was really attracted to the idea of holding a course here in Southbank, because I can only imagine some of the stories of people who live in these high-rise towers,” Ms Daly said.

“What do they do? Where do they come from? Do they ever get lonely? What is it like to live up high? These are some of the questions I really want the classes to explore. I want local residents to own the content they produce at these classes.”

The idea for these workshops came from a website called Place Stories (www.placestories.com), which was developed during the National Cultural Policy Forum.

For more details you can head to the website www.pumptheatre.com.au or email Josephine [email protected]

The classes are on at Boyd, 207 City Rd, Southbank at 7.30pm on Tuesdays.
