Easter tea party thrills

Easter and school holidays were the perfect time for the tea party and that’s exactly what happened at Southgate over the festive long weekend.

The colourful costumes were a hit with the crowd and while the tea party was reserved for younger visitors there were plenty of onlookers enjoying the entertainment.

Events and marketing manager at Southgate Jo Gartner said the centre was so pleased the activities had created such a fantastic atmosphere.

“It was another great Easter at Southgate this year, with large crowds yet again visiting the centre for our mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Children and families enjoyed free activities during the day as well as performances on the promenade while dining and shopping in the new look centre,” Ms Gartner said.

“Melburnians love visiting Southgate during major events and public holidays, and Easter is no exception. We look forward to continuing to welcome local families and visitors to Southgate over Easter in the years to come,” she added.
