Hamer Hall preview

16 Jan 2012

Hamer Hall preview Image

Hamer Hall is getting closer to completion and the Arts centre has given the Southbank Local News a sneak peak at the progress.

This picture is of  Judith Isherwood, the Chief Executive of the Art Centre Melbourne, inside the updated auditorium.

Ms Isherwood is sitting in the very comfortable new seats, erected within the reconstructed auditorium.

Changes to the auditorium included newly installed seating, acoustics and technologically advanced staging systems.

The newly decked-out auditorium is just part of the $128 million upgrade, which includes a completely reconstructed facade, opening the centre up to its riverfront.

The reconstruction remains on time to be complete this year.
