Mayor set for round two

Robert Doyle has announced he will stand for a second term as Lord Mayor of the City of Melbourne.

He has listed Southbank as one of the important projects he wants to tackle if re-elected.

The former state Liberal Party leader announced that as part of a second stint in City Hall he wants to incorporate Southbank and Docklands more into the city.

He announced his decision on 3AW’s Neil Mitchell program and declared he had “unfinished business” as mayor.

It is expected that there will be others putting their hands up to challenge Mr Doyle for the role of Lord Mayor.

City of Melbourne elections will be held in October.
