MSO launch 2013 season

There are plenty of reasons to be smiling if you’re in the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO).

Not only has its main playing hall been reopened, last month it launched its 2013 season, with an impromptu performance for morning commuters.

The group performed a rendition of Messiah Hallelujah Chorus under the direction of conductor Ben Northey.

The season will be the first under the guidance of new chief conductor Sir Andrew Davis.

Sir Andrew said could not wait for the season to commence.

“I can’t tell you how exciting it is to be joining the MSO and MSO Chorus for their first full season in the new Hamer Hall – and what a season it is going to be!” he said.
