New Gallery President

Bruce Parncutt was announced and installed as the new president of the Council of Trustees of the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) last month.

Mr Parncutt is a long-time supporter of the arts, having served previously as Chairmen of the NGV foundation and as a member of the Council of Trustees.

Mr Parncutt said he was looking forward to working with the Trustees and moving the NGV into the future.

“The NGV is a place everyone enjoys, to which many contribute and of which all Victorians are proud. It is a great honour to be asked to serve, and to be a part of a team of dedicated and passionate people who are committed to preserving and enhancing the NGV’s central role in cultural life of our community,” Mr Parncutt said.

Minister for the Arts and Premier Ted Baillieu said Mr Parncutt was a great choice for the gallery.

“Bruce’s outstanding career history, coupled with his passion for the Gallery and his dedication and commitment to the arts, make him an ideal candidate as the next Presdent of the NGV,” Mr Baillieu said.
