Workers from locally-based business Treasury Wines Estates (TWE) were out in force last month as part of the company’s annual global volunteering week.

From May 14 to 18, workers from TWE’s Queensbridge St office gave up their time to help out at a number of local charitable organisations including the Collingwood Children’s Farm, FareShare, St Kilda Mums, Sacred Heart Mission and the Salvation Army Cafe to name a few.

Southbank Local News caught up with a group of workers on May 16, who were helping out the team at the local St Kilda Indigenous Nursery Co-operative (SKINC) on Williamstown Rd in Fishermans Bend.

A number of volunteers from TWE helped with a range of duties over the course of the week at the local nursery, which is a community run and led nursery that grows and sells native plants.

“Global Volunteering Week provides a great opportunity for employees in every region and function to come together and undertake valuable work in our local communities,” TWE’s global public affairs director Cecelia Burgman said.
