Recital centre gears up for festivities

Christmas is always a busy time of year for the Melbourne Recital Centre (MRC) and 2012 is no exception.

The spotlight this year is on family entertainment, with shows to entertain and enchant those most excited about this time of year.

The classic story of The Snowman will be retold with a screening of an animated version accompanied by the Melbourne Recital Centre Orchestra, being conducted by Ben Northey, who we featured in lasts month’s The Arts Precinct.

The Centre also keeping its own traditions, featuring the The Australian Boys Choir singing carols, an event that has taken place since 1939.

Another feature will be the appearance of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and Brandenburg Choir, being led by Paul Dwyer.

With so much Christmas entertainment the MRC is the obvious choice for a night out during the festive season.
