Steady going at YRBA

Steady going at YRBA

The Yarra River Business Association (YRBA) continues on a steady course after its annual general meeting on October 5.

John Forman of Red Rock Leisure was re-elected for his third term as president, while long-standing vice-president Bill Blakeney of Federation Square also fronts-up for another year at the helm.

Finances continue to be managed by Peter King of Quest Southbank, who has served as treasurer for more than a decade.

The YRBA again recorded a healthy surplus, although the association’s support of major events held in the precinct has reduced the financial buffer established over 20 years of operation.

Long time board member Allan Cayzer of Marina Yarra’s Edge, stepped-down because of business commitments that will keep him away from Melbourne for much of the year.

Mr Forman paid tribute to Mr Cayzer’s many years of input to the YRBA, especially on maritime-related matters.

The YRBA will host its next business luncheon on November 24 at Metropolis Southgate.
