Sally Capp has been provisionally declared Melbourne’s new Lord Mayor.
The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) on May 18 declared Ms Capp the winner over the next placed candidate Jennifer Yang.
After preferences were distributed, Ms Capp won 53 per cent of votes, from Ms Yang with 47 per cent.
Ms Capp told supporters and council staff on May 21 when the result was declared she was "overjoyed" with her win.
Ms Capp has already hit the ground running in her new role and wasted no time visiting Southbank last month for a photo at Southbank Promenade.
She has also agreed to be the guest speaker at the Southbank Residents’ Association’s annual general meeting (AGM) on July 18 at 6.30pm at the Boyd Community Hub.
