Man charged after Southbank assault
A man has been charged following an alleged assault in Southbank on March 28.
Police said a 60-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman were allegedly randomly assaulted by a man and a woman at about 1pm.
It’s also alleged a 23-year-old woman was randomly approached and assaulted by a woman at the same time.
Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested a 37-year-old man on the McCrae foreshore on April 18.
The 37-year-old Rye man has been charged with intentionally and recklessly cause injury, affray, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, common law assault and aggravated assault.
He has been remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on April 27.
Police are investigating with their enquiries relating to the whereabouts of the alleged co-offender.
