Andi, an 18-week-old staffy kelpie cross, might only have been with the Bendix family for two weeks but it seems she is settling into her new role quite nicely, according to owner Axel.

Axel, along with wife Helen and their two boys Cameron and Matt, revealed that the latest addition to their life from the Rural Rescue in Mildura comes following the loss of their previous dog of 16 years.

However, whilst taking some time to chat with Southbank Local News during her first visit to the city, it seems Andi is handling life with her new family rather nicely with Axel revealing that it hadn’t taken her long to come out of her shell.

Axel described the young puppy as “very naughty” with the family quickly identifying her tendency to enjoy collecting shoes in her bed.

“She’s a bit of a collector,” Helen said. “She goes into the cupboard and pushes the sliding door open, takes the shoes and takes them all back to her bed to make piles.”

Even though it’s early days for Andi the family appears very happy with their new companion and believe she’s going to work out really well in her new role.
