Two charged after speeding car crashes in Southbank
Two men have been charged after a speeding car was allegedly involved a three-vehicle crash in Southbank that saw one person taken to hospital.
It’s alleged the incident unfolded after police saw a white Mercedes sedan driving erratically southbound on Kings Way at around 11am on June 11.
“Despite police activating lights and sirens to intercept the Mercedes, the car allegedly took off at a fast rate of speed,” a police spokesperson said.
The Mercedes came to a stop after allegedly colliding with three other vehicles near the Citylink onramp.
Two men were arrested at the scene. An occupant from one of the other vehicles was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A 27-year-old Dandenong North man was charged with conduct endangering serious injury and fail to stop on police direction.
A 32-year-old South Yarra man was charged with trafficking cocaine, possess cocaine, possess methylamphetamine and possess prescription medication without prescription.
Both were bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in August.
