Boyd obscenity
4th December, 2024
Words by Rob Sutherland
It was several years ago that the City of Melbourne (CoM) sold off one of the last open spaces for residents, Boyd Park, to developers.
Despite objections, gardens, basketball courts and a refuge during COVID have been turned into yet another residential tower block, this one right on the doorstep, of the Boyd Community Hub.
How inappropriate, it’s obscene, and practically, it just doesn’t work.
Now residents must pay for the greed of the CoM, the developers, Indi, Oxford, Investa, Hamilton Marino and PDG. Thank you for considering the needs of Southbank residents.
This would not be allowed to occur in any other city in the world. •
