Choir 3006: Melbourne Recital Centre to launch free community choir
Melbourne Recital Centre will launch a new community choir in 2025 with the aim of bringing people together through the power of music.
Choir 3006, a free community choir project, is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
Led by acclaimed choral conductor Renee Heron, this innovative program offers weekly lunchtime drop-in singing sessions designed to help people escape their daily routines and connect with others in their community.
This initiative addresses the growing concern of urban loneliness and offers a unique solution through accessible community music-making.
The lunch-hour timing makes it particularly convenient for local workers and residents to take part in without disrupting their daily schedules.
