Man arrested in Southbank burglary
A man has been arrested after allegedly being caught in possession of a large quantity of copper pipe and a power tool during the morning of Tuesday, April 16.
Police were called to reports of a burglary at a vacant building near the corner of Kavanagh St and Southbank Bvld at around 12.30am.
“Police swiftly responded in numbers and arrested a man in possession of a large quantity of copper pipe and a power tool,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
“It is believed that up to two other men were also involved in the burglary.”
Despite a thorough search assisted by the K9 unit, no other intruder was found.
A 45-year-old St Albans man is currently assisting police with enquiries.
