New China-Australia Business Hub opens in Melbourne

The first China-Australia Business Hub has officially launched in Melbourne, aiming to enhance international trade relations.

The new Business Hub officially opened on September 18 at the World Trade Centre, marking a significant step in strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

Situated at the nexus of the CBD, Southbank and Docklands, the hub aims to foster international commerce, create job opportunities, and drive economic growth in the region.

The facility will serve as a centre for business collaboration, providing a space for Australian and Chinese enterprises to work together on innovative projects.

Lord Mayor Nick Reece, who attended the opening on September 18, emphasised the hub’s importance in enhancing Melbourne’s global business reputation.

“This hub is more than just a building; it's a bridge between nations, cultures, and economies," Cr Reece said.

It symbolises our city's commitment to international engagement and cements Melbourne's position as a global business capital.

The China-Australia Business Hub is expected to boost Melbourne’s economy by attracting international investors and creating opportunities for local businesses to expand their operations in the Chinese market.

In addition to driving trade, the hub is also expected to boost tourism, benefiting the hospitality and service sectors.

CEO of the China-Australia Business Hub, Angela Xiao, described the development as a major milestone in the relationship between the two countries.

“We're not just opening a building; we're launching a new chapter in Australia-China business relations,” Ms Xiao said

“Our vision is to create a vibrant community where ideas flourish, partnerships form, and businesses from both nations can achieve unprecedented growth.”

The hub will offer state-of-the-art facilities, business services, and regular networking events, positioning Melbourne as a prime location for Australia-China business interactions.

“Melbourne has long been Australia's events and conventions capital,” Cr Reece said.

“Now, with the China-Australia Business Hub, we're also positioning ourselves as the go-to destination for Australia-China business interactions.”

“Whether you're a local startup looking to export to China or a Chinese corporation seeking to establish a presence in Australia, this hub provides the perfect launchpad for your ambitions.”
