46-year-old Yarra mystery
Southbank News | 16th October, 2012
Police have released a new image and are calling for information to try and identify a man found dead in the Yarra River 46 years ago.
The man was found in 1966 in the area now known as South Wharf.
The only form of identification the man had was a dry cleaning receipt with the name MacDonald, found in the pocket of his trousers.
He was found with no obvious injuries and it is estimated he had been in the water for two to four days.
This is the latest of many attempts by police to identify the man. Victoria Police have released an image of what the man looked like in 1966.
If you have any information on this Southbank mystery, Police are urging you to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppers.com.au
