Male sought over Southbank bin fires

Police are appealing for information about a man they believe lit up to eight bin fires around Southbank over a month-long period.
Victoria Police Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released CCTV footage of a Caucasian, male, approximately 18 to 25 years of age with a slim build wearing dark coloured clothing.
They are asking for help from the public to identify and locate the man, who is wanted in relation to the deliberately lit fires.
These were: near the intersection of City Rd and Power St at about 10.10am on Friday, July 3; on Haig St, near Clarendon St, at about 11.15pm on Tuesday, July 7 and also Sunday, July 12; and at Clarke St, near City Rd, just after 3pm on Monday, July 27.
Four bins were also set alight on City Rd between 5.30pm and 8pm on Sunday, August 2.
No properties were damaged as a result of the fires and there were no injuries.
