Boyd to celebrate five wonderful years

Southbank’s civic heart the Boyd Community Hub has come a long way since opening to the community in July 2012 (pictured).

Our local community facility will celebrate five years of servicing Southbank’s ever-growing community in July with a host of activities and locals are invited to join in the festivities!

Instead of hosting one singular event, the team has opted to spread the celebrations over a number of days, beginning with a wine, cheese and jazz night on Thursday, July 6. The event will start at 5pm and finish at 7pm.

On Friday, July 7, Boyd will host a theatre performance for families from 3:30pm to 5pm where local families are invited to a theatre show and birthday party. The event will feature a big birthday cake cutting, party hats and balloons. Children will be asked to help sing Happy Birthday to Boyd too!

Special Happy Birthday cards will also offer all of Boyd’s user groups, library patrons, playgroup members and locals the chance to write a birthday message to Boyd. These cards will then be used to form a special installation in the foyer and lounge.

This will form part of a larger installation in the foyer and lounge area that will feature for three weeks around the fifth birthday celebrations.
