Morrison and MSO

Jazz legend James Morrison joined the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) last month for a special performance at Arts Centre Melbourne.
The show, A Journey Through Jazz, featured Morrison on a number of instruments, accompanying Ben Northey and the MSO through jazz tracks by Louis Armstrong, Herbie Hancock and many more.
Morrison said performing with an orchestra was a special experience.
“What makes the orchestra such a great platform for jazz is that an orchestra is an incredible sound palette. It has so many different textures and colours, it allows me to execute the music on the grandest of scales,” Morrison explained.
