Open season

The Australia Open tennis tournament is just down the road and as a consequence plenty of the competitors have spent time in Southbank over the last couple of weeks.

Many are staying in hotels here, while a select few descended on Crown, for its Tennis Players Party.

Players including Maria Sharapova, Li Na, James Blake and David Nalbandian enjoyed the celebrations, while Australia’s Davis Cup captain Pat Rafter (pictured below) also made an appearance.

The tournament is on from January 13 to 27.
