Time to get creative
The City of Melbourne is encouraging young people to get creative, with a free summer creative arts program taking place this month.
Running from January 15 through to January 28, Signal 37 is a chance to enhance skills in filmmaking, writing, art and music.
The arts studio will hold an exhibition at the end of the program, giving participants the chance to display what they have learned.
Councillor Jennifer Kanis believes Signal 37 is a fantastic opportunity for young people, saying: “This summer 100 young people from diverse backgrounds will get the chance to gain valuable experience by working with professional artists, developing skills across a wide range of art forms and strengthening social networks.”
The Signal 37 studio is behind Flinders Street Station on Northbank, at the top of Banana Alley.
Anyone who is interested in taking part in the program, or is just after more information on Signal 37, should go to the website: www.signal.net.au.
