Police are appealing for public assistance following an aggravated burglary in South Melbourne in March.

Port Philip Crime Investigation Unit detectives have been told a man entered a property on Coventry St about 2.40am on March 24 while the occupants were asleep.

Police say a male victim woke to find the offender and led him out of the building. The victim was not injured, and the offender fled the scene.

Investigators have released a digital image as well as CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

Police seek public’s help after man assaulted in Southbank

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was knocked unconscious during an assault in Southbank on May 8.

Investigators have been told a 19-year-old South Australian man was walking along Crown Promenade when he attempted to speak to a group of men at around 1.15am.

Police allege two men in the group began assaulting the man before knocking him unconscious and walking away.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
